The Automated Record For Child Health(c)

Welcome to TheARCH.net, the website for users of the Automated Record for Child Health (ARCH). Researchers at the Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) and clinicians at the Boston Medical Center (BMC) Pediatric Primary Care Practice have developed the ARCH to be a comprehensive computer-based patient record. The project began in 1995 - funded in part by the Robert Wood Johnson Faculty Generalist Scholars Program. the David and Lucille Packard Foundation Center for the Future of Children, and the Department of Pediatrics at BUSM. A demonstration of the ARCH is available in the "Downloads" section of this site.

In late 2001, a collaborative effort was begun between The Massachusetts Chapter of the Academy of Pediatrics Immunization Initiative and researchers at the Boston University School of Medicine to redesign the ARCH to be a flexible, web-based, pediatric clinical information tool for use by Massachusetts child health care providers. The central goals of this project are to:

1.	Offer low-cost, web-based software for immunization tracking, reporting, and form management to Massachusetts primary care clinicians
2.	Offer clinicians the opportunity to also use some or all of the additional features of The ARCH ranging from limited health data collection (growth, screening test results, risk assessment) to full pediatric electronic medical record functionality.
3.	Share collected mmunization data with the Massachusetts Immunization Registry when available

The ARCH is actually a collection of modules that support a wide range of clinical areas including:

	The ARCH	Is a customizable pediatric electronic medical record that offers functionality ranging from immunization tracking to full point-of-care visit documentation.
	ARCH Report Writer	Allows easy access to patient forms
	ARCH Call Manager	Supports telephone call documentation and management
	ARCH Patient Manager	Supports management of patients by diagnosis or condition. Also allows viewing of patients seen by date.
	ARCH Patient Library	Allows easy access to a customizable web-based patient information library
	ARCH QI	Allows clinicians to analyze their own practice data including immunization reminders and recalls
